Embryo is a melodic death metal band from Italy. This is their sophomore effort, following up their 2006 debut record. The group has gone through a couple of member changes since that album, and now this record comes out with 3 new members.
Embryo is, as stated, a melodic death metal band, but they have a sound that's a bit more extreme than most bands in that genre tend to be. While this is no doubt a death metal, each instrument seems to call in something different, the keys really bring a symphonic edge that seem to carry most of the melody, the guitars, bass, and drums really have more of a groovy death metal style that occasionally goes a bit technical, and finally the vocals have a bit of a deathcore/brutal death metal style. The combination of all of these styles is a bit unorthodox, and it does take a bit of time to grow on you, but some might find this to be what makes this band stand out a bit more than others.
The Last Rites, born in 1997, are a Thrash-Death Metal band from Savona; at the beginning formed by 5 members, after 10 years of activity, reduced to 3: Dave (voice and guitar), Libu (bass guitar) and Laccio (drums).
In 2001 theyrecorded at Nadir Study of Tommy Talamanca (Sadist) the homonym demo; a few months later they record the song, "Psycho Killer" that will be included in "Nadir Compilation", understanding the best of the productions of the homonym Study.
Always in 2001 the band wins the "Almost Famous Competion".
Their real debut arrives in 2003 with the album "Mind Prison", that is distributed by the Dutch label Two Fat Men in Europe, receiving good critiques on the press of sector.
In 2004 I/you/they have been selected among the 10 Thrash Metal more promising band of the Italian panorama from the magazine Metal Hammer.
In 2006 the mini-cd goes out "Hate", distributed by the Akom Prod. / Cool Blood Records.
In 2007 their song "Equilibrium" is included in the "Liguria In Metal Compilation", the best groups metal underground in Liguria, selected by the users of the forum Liguria In Metal.
Shut rhythmics, changes of time, scream and growl alternate vocals: a mix of power and aggressiveness that it doesn't have anything to envy to the great Italian and foreign names.
Today they are ready to introduce what surely is their more mature job: Future World.
A sinister concept on the unpredictable future that the man he is building with his own hands composed by 5 pieces recorded in direct taking to valorize at the most its pathos and to give him a "live" effect. The all has been realized during the first week of May at "Città della Musica" in Genova, masterizzed at "Atlantis studio" in Milan.
Future World: guitars downtuned, fast and precise riff, effective and involving refrain, power and melody.

"OAK ROOTS" is a folk metal group created in Rome by Manuel Rodriguez and Michele Zampa in 2009. After a few changes the actual members are luca grimaldi, emile ammann, evita zaccaria, piersante falconi and patrizio tinelli. At the beginning the project was an epic viking metal, after a long discussion about the stile the group would adopt, they found that a fusion of folk/pagan/viking metal would fulfill their expectations. At the moment OAK ROOTS is looking forward to record their first demo in June 22nd.
If you can make it through the first track, and its poor screaming vocals, you will find Icy Steel's As the God's Commands to be a quite impressive and entertaining work of classic, and often epic, heavy metal. Very recommended.
Elvenking is a folk/power metal band from Italy. As of 2009, the band has released one demo, one single, and five full-length studio albums.
On February 9, 2010 it was announced that Dennis Ward will produce Elvenking's new album, with Mat Sinner (Sinner, Primal Fear) also taking the role of executive producer. The recordings started on March 20th. The album, called Red Silent Tides, is expected to be released in September, 2010.
