Nifelvind (English: Wind of Hell/Underworld) is the sixth full-length album by the Finnish folk metal band Finntroll, released on February 17, 2010 through Century Media.
This album reached the highest chart result in Finland by reaching position #8. It also entered the German album charts on #31, as well as the charts in Switzerland (#41) and Austria (#61).
From Afar is the fourth studio album by the Finnish folk metal band Ensiferum, as well as the first to feature keyboardist Emmi Silvennoinen. It was released on September 9, 2009 on Spinefarm Records. The album was produced by Nightwish producer Tero Kinnunen and Victory Songs producer Janne Joutsenniemi. It was mixed by HIM producer Hiili Hiilesmaa. The limited edition of the album includes a cover of Swedish folk rock group Nordman.
The next studio album is already in working-progress, and will be released in February 2010 by the name “Cavalcade”. Again it proves that the band has a lot more to tell and show, and just keeps on creating and growing - this time with major changes in the music. Few curiosities on the album are that the song 'Blood Trails' is featuring also Ville Laihiala from Poisonblack and one of the two cover songs is 'Farewell', a tribute to Sentenced.
If you are really into a certain kind of metal you will probably appreciate certain albums a lot more than others will do. Most of the time these albums are in general labeled as middle of the road or too much of the same albums, and this can also be said about the ‘…From Above’ promo by Malicious Death. During thirty-five minutes and via nine compact songs these Finnish guys show us that thrash metal can be very enjoyable when it is played with power, aggression and by heart. You don’t get the next thrash metal miracle here. What you get are decent but typical riffs, typical breaks, screaming solos and dirty vocals. Add to this the punk influences during ‘No Justice’ or that pounding mid tempo riff from ‘Crooked Cross’ and ready it is: you’re monthly doses of noise for those who are into this.
